This little love bug is a 4 year young Pointer / Boxer mix whos ready to take on the world! With leash in tow he wants to be out and about enjoying all the scents and sniffs nature has to offer. Bandit simply loves the company of people. He thrives on the attention of his family. Hoping to go everywhere you go is his biggest dream. Ideally he would love a little human to spend time with and play until his hearts content. Showering you with kisses and cuddles is Bandits absolute favorite thing to do. Bandit is a huge fan of snoozing on his familys bed, if you let him. Beware though hes a wiggler! If this is not allowed a doggie bed close by will do. Bandit has great manners! He is completely house trained, never damages any of your belongings and only chews on appropriate things like his toys or a tasty treat. Bandit is on a special diet (Purina JM Joint health) due to a previous surgery he had on his back leg but he has recovered well and has no lingering side effects. Going for a walk? Bandit wants to join you! When walking on leash he even knows to stays closely on your left side. This pups biggest hurdle is giving you whats in his mouth but if you offer a treat he is easily bribed. Although Bandits sweet as pie he would not live in harmony with the enemy, aka cats! He does get along with pups who are smaller in size than himself but anything larger simply wouldnt do. Being a true family dog he will befriend any human he meets. Bandit does get lonely if he is left alone too long so someone who can share not only their love but their time would be best. Are you the family Bandit is dreaming of? Bandit is currently residing in one of our wonderful foster homes so once an application is approved a convenient time will be arranged to meet him and hopefully its a match! Note: As with all of our dogs, we strongly recommend obedience classes for new owner and dog to create a life-long bond with the adopted dog based on trust, respect and rewarding training experiences. We can help you train practical skills you use every day with positive reinforcement training. Our shelter dogs are strays and we observe and assess their behavior at the shelter which may be somewhat different in a home environment. In addition dogs adopted from the Manchester Animal Shelter are spayed/neutered, microchipped and have received their Rabies and distemper vaccinations as well as other necessary medical care such as flea treatment. All dogs are also heartworm tested. Some prudent care such as heartworm medication is not provided at the shelter and should be taken care of at the earliest convenience upon adoption.
